My background sits across worlds most people never cross:

  1. Former Western Australia police officer: trained to read a room, evidence, tension, body language, and the things that aren’t being said.

  2. Shadow-work coach: brutal self-responsibility only, truth over comfort.

  3. Energy-medicine and nervous system reader: intuition honed like a sniper, precise and grounded.

Those worlds taught me to see patterns fast and act swiftly and cleanly: skills that now read a nervous system the way I once read a crime scene: for accuracy, cause, and closure.

  • No. Spinal Energetics is not “normal” energy work. It’s potent and it goes deep.

    Unlike lighter modalities that simply move or “shift” energy, Spinal works with your whole system — body, psyche, and nervous system — to complete cycles your body has been holding onto.

    That depth can feel intense. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable, even confronting, especially in the first few sessions.

    This doesn’t mean something is wrong. It means your system is actually releasing and recalibrating, rather than just venting surface-level charge. What’s stored in the body is usually the very stuff we weren’t able to face at the time — so when it unravels, it can feel raw before it feels steady.

    Processing takes time. For most people it’s around 72 hours, but sometimes a week or more. That’s normal. Spinal is designed for lasting recalibration, not just a “feel good in the moment” session.

  • I recommend 3–6 sessions for trust and compounding.

    That’s why new clients start with a 3-session pack, your system needs safety and consistency to let go.

  • Runs the full wave: activation → deactivation, so the stress cycle actually completes.


    Closes the file, not just vents it: patterns don’t just discharge, they reconsolidate.

    • Release = offloading charge. Feels good, may not change the wiring.

    • Completion = charge moves and the nervous system deactivates back to baseline while feeling safe → the file reconsolidates.

    • Outside can look loud (shaking/crying) or quiet (deep breath/softening). Either way, the inside resets.

  • It’s not unusual to feel more sensitive, tired, emotional, or even in greater physical discomfort after a Spinal Energetics session. Your nervous system may have just completed stress cycles it’s been holding onto for years, sometimes decades.

    That “worse” feeling is actually your body processing. Think detox: foggy, heavy, achy, volatile, emotional, pains increased. It doesn’t mean the session didn’t work, it means something deep is moving.

    The key distinction is discomfort vs. distress:

    • Discomfort = your body recalibrating. Temporary and part of the process (can last days, sometimes a week or more).

    • Distress = your system signalling it needs more time before the next session.

    If it feels like distress, you can take longer between sessions. Integration doesn’t run on a fixed schedule; you have full authority to pace your sessions so your system feels safe.

    Most people find that the fog clears and a new baseline of steadiness emerges once the body has finished processing. That’s your nervous system recalibrating and expanding its capacity.

  • Not necessarily. Spinal Energetics isn’t designed for a “quick feel-good” release. It’s potent. It brings up what your body has been holding…unresolved emotions, old stress cycles, unconscious patterns…so they can finally be integrated.

    That can feel like a detox: tired, emotional, even flu-like, as your system processes. Some people feel relief quickly. Others feel worse before they feel better. Neither is right or wrong, it’s just your body doing its job.

    Think of it this way: if something has been stored in your system because it was too overwhelming to face at the time, bringing it to the surface won’t always feel pleasant. But it’s the only way it can clear.

    The intensity is actually a sign of depth, not of damage. Once the processing moves through, most people notice a steadier baseline and greater capacity in their day-to-day life. That’s when you know the work has landed.

  • Dissociation isn’t a sign the work failed; it’s your nervous system showing you the exact protection it’s been running to keep you safe. When pain or trauma felt overwhelming in the past, your system learned to “check out.”

    Spinal Energetics can stir those old patterns to the surface. Sometimes that means you feel spacey or detached for a while after. That’s not regression, it’s the body letting you see the very strategy that once protected you.

    As your system integrates the work, it learns by experience that it’s safe to stay present while completing those stress cycles. Over time, the dissociation eases and is replaced with steadiness, clarity, and a deeper sense of being in your body.
